Reims

An important restoration project breathed new life

into a prestigious private home constructed between

1911 and 1913. The hotel particulier located here

now is named after General Eisenhower, who lived

there for a few months in 1945. The exterior of the

building, designed by Parisian architect François-

Adolphe Bocage, eclectically blends eighteenth-

century motifs with Art Nouveau inspirations. The

exuberance of the facade, decorated with garlands of

flowers and fruit, is offset by the sober elegance of the

interiors, characterised by the extensive use of wood,

marble, precious glass windows and stylish elements

in cast iron. The bedrooms are all different and the

bathrooms reverberates with the spirit of an early

20th century family home, and the past of a truly

unique place, brimming with history.

Un importante progetto di restauro ha dato nuova vita

a una prestigiosa dimora privata costruita tra il 1911

e il 1913. L’hotel particulier che vi ha oggi sede deve il suo

nome al generale Eisenhower, che vi risiedette per alcuni mesi

nel 1945. L’esterno del palazzo, progettato dall'architetto

parigino François-Adolphe Bocage, fonde ecletticamente motivi

settecenteschi e ispirazioni Art Nouveau. All’esuberanza

della facciata, decorata con ghirlande di fiori e frutti,

fa da controcanto l’eleganza composta degli interni, connotata

dall’ampio impiego di legno, marmo, preziose vetrate e ricercati

elementi in ferro battuto. Le stanze da letto, tutte diverse,

e le sale da bagno richiamano lo spirito di un'abitazione

di famiglia del Primo Novecento e il passato ricco di storia

di un luogo davvero unico.
